This fine horn is based on those typically made in the York County, Pennsylvania area in the late 18th and early 19th century. Ours feature lathe-turned, screw-off wooden tips and stoppers for easy filling, with beehive style base plugs, all made of nicely figured hardwood similar to walnut. The 3/4" leather shoulder strap slips over the wood tip and is then secured to the base with a hand forged iron staple. 10" to 14" in length.
